How many house plants do you have in your home?

I am 1/4 at 22:02. I have what I think (!) is a philodendron, that I got as a 4" seedling from a lady who grew it from a seed. I replanted it once because it was in a tiny container, and put it in a corner that does not get a lot of light (I got it purposely because a friend of mine had the same plant, and it thrived with little light, and I knew that would make me feel like I really have a green thumb. Plus they filter the air). Mine thrived too, and 4 feet/ 8 months later, I moved it to a higher low-light area because my cat was eyeing it. It did fine there, didn't grow a lot, but I moved it again because I was forgetting to water it. It's still doing great.

How do you get your Christmas cactus to bloom? Mine just doesn't ever.

NP here. Mine didn’t bloom for years. Then we moved and it went next to a drafty window, and the hung bloomed like crazy! I’m convinced that it usually blooms around Christmas (hence the name) due to the cold - but I haven’t looked it up.

I have around 30 (45 if we count guava and pomegranate seedlings).

They bring me a lot of joy, especially in the winter.

One bamboo plant. I need something really low maintanence!!

Plus I don't have all that much room where I can keep plants that the cat can't reach them.

My mom was such a huge pain in the ass when I was young, she was constantly away and would bother us so much about her stupid house plants. She cared more for those houseplants than she did for us. That might be why I have no plants at all indoors and will never have any. I do love my outdoor plants though.

None. My cat eats them and knocks the pots over. He's a houseplant menace.

Half a dozen? I'd like more but most of my windows have external awnings so I don't get enough light to put them everywhere.

None. But I plan to get hydroponic kind that grows vertically on walls. It is supposed to improve indoor air quality.

PP, Where do you get the Guava and pomegranate seedlings? Are you in DMV area?

Zero. The cat and I are plant killers. I always forget and the cat likes to eat/knock them over. Dh could've been a successful plant owner if not for us.

I have 10. I'm most proud of my orchis which have rebloomed multiple times! Don't ask me how, I just don't know.
