| OP again - one more question, please! The less sweet frosting at Giant is called Bettercreme, right? |
|
I wouldn’t keep a Costco sheet cake in my fridge that long just because it will take up so much space. Plus they’re really too big for 20 people.
And yes, you want buttercream for grocery store cakes. |
| Giant has the best cakes in my opinion. Better than Costco. |
I don't like the Costco cakes either. There is something off about the taste and the frosting has an odd texture. I personally love Safeway cakes. I've had fewer Giant cakes but those taste great too. Never, ever buy Whole Foods cakes because they are uniformly awful. |
| Giant. But I freely admit I love those sugar bombs. |
| I personally like Safeway cakes. For the school cupcakes, as a former preschool teacher, I would recommend the mini-cupcakes all in the same flavor. Kids that age don't typically eat the whole thing anyway and the minis make it easier for everyone. |
This! And skip the daycare cupcakes. Nobody wants their toddler having that many cupcakes. |
|
Giant and Safeway are both good. I would get it the day of or the day before if possible...three days in the fridge is too long.
And definitely mini-cupcakes for daycare. |
| Thanks all! I ordered a 1/4 sheet cake (with Elmo, of course) from Giant and got the mini cupcakes from there for daycare. She's going to love the cake! |
| Safeway bakery is good. If for cupcakes, Costco are huge. Like the size of a kids head. |
| If you have a Harris Teeter around you - their sheet cakes are DELICIOUS. |
