Really popular destinations you're not interested in / places you changed your mind about

I think it depends on why you travel and what you want out of a trip. It also depends on what you do on trips.

I've traveled extensively and for many different reasons. I can have a great trip and meh take it or leave it trip to the same locations depending on what I do while there / the weather / what I wanted out of it.

Also Mexico and Italy. Seem dangerous and dumpy to me.

Hawaii

It's so far away, and we have much nicer beaches on this side of the world. Just don't see a 12 hour flight and 5 hour time difference being worth it.

OP here!

I said Italy because I am not very interested in the Italian architecture, the food, or the art. I know it seems like blasphemy. I can't help it!

Mexico explains itself a little more.. There's just too many tropical looking places to go without worrying about cleanliness or safety.

Why on earth would you think Italy is dangerous and/or dumpy?

Southern Italy is a tad chaotic compared to Northern Europe, but that's part of it's charm imo. Still, wold never call it dangerous or dumpy.

I've never been to Hawaii, so can't really compare. But what beaches on "this side of the world" are much nicer? Also, I'm pretty sure Hawaii *is* on this side of the world.

Have you been?

New Orleans is amazing. I'm glad I finally went and I'd go again for the right occasion. But I'm in no hurry.
