Why would one send her kid to a second/third tier boarding school when there are tons of good schools around here, beyond the biggies? I am not knocking boarding school in general, but seriously, what would be the goal/point? |
If you are from New England, it's fairly normal. The boarding school experience is unique and valued by many who understand it - whether you attend Exeter or Pomfret. |
Okay Tucker, time to get off DCUM. And, lots of people who know you think this. Many of your neighbors for instance. -Your Kent Neighbor |
My friend was a teacher at St. Paul’s and a friend who went to Exeter. Based on our discussions, I would be very reluctant to send my kids to any boarding school. |
Not a neighbor but friends with folks who went to school with Tucker. Years ago when Tucker was just starting out we ran into him and I will never forget that the universal consensus they all had of him was that he was a total tool, entitled, windbag. These were his classmates that said this. I remember it because the people who said it all shared the same opinion and we’re not people I had ever heard knock anyone before. My impression was “Wow. What the heck did he do to make so many people have such a low opinion of him.” |
I know him, too. I agree. He’s a douche. |
Julie Bowen also went there. |
And Howard Dean. |
I completely agree he's a douche. Might still be a good school. But definitely a douche. Never met Billy Bush though; I'll take your word that he's a lovely person.. LOL |
Will also have to take your word that Billy's a lovely person. Hard to think of anything but his snickering and encouragement when #45 talked about grabbing women by the P****. ![]() |
He basically personifies the term "douche" these days. Has taken the hard right turn into racism (e.g., "it's totally okay to call African countries shitholes!") and anti-democratic destabilizing conspiracy theories now that he is a Fox headliner. Sold his soul and intellectual credibility for MAGA-driven ratings. Douchey T aside (his hip hop name), people really love St. George's. Any school can have some jerky alums but mostly the St. George's families, though affluent, have always seemed pretty down to earth and mellow. |
(And yeah, I know him in person too. Ol' Tuck's been around, even if this is his nadir.) |
HAHA. I want to hang out with you, not Douchey T. |
Surprised no one has mentioned the sex abuse scandals. |
He's douchey on TV but not IRL; kids at the same school. He and his wife are very nice people in person. |
