Lol. Nicotine works well, too. Damn, I was skinny until I quit smoking...

You are not eating enough at your meals if you are hungry between.

Well that’s the point - most “mindless” snacks aren’t due to hunger. It’s boredom or habit of just wanting the taste of the food, which is why those snacks also tend to be sugary or processed . Op isn’t hungry when she’s mindlessly snacking, she’s just eating to eat.

I do this when I'm at home and not at work. Constantly in the kitchen looking for snacks.

I like hot tea (even in summer) so I tell myself I can have all the tea I want. It's the break and procrastination I want. I fill the kettle, choose the tea (I have a lot of options), brew the tea, decide if I want a touch of honey and milk or keep it plain, etc. It's the ritual that helps me. I sometimes do snack mindlessly, but the tea ritual has helped me cut back.

This is not true for everyone. I can have a big breakfast and be hungry 2.5 hours later. My best friend isn't hungry for breakfast at all and never has been. My coworker has a yogurt or cottage cheese cup for breakfast and says she's completely satisfied until lunch. Everyone is different.

More filling meals; eat as much as you want at scheduled mealtimes but ONLY at scheduled mealtimes; have a designed snack time during the day (3-4pm or so); drink tea instead of snacking. And just don't buy the things that you tend to snack on.
