Sonis is just the means of putting whatever is on your phone/iPod through speakers. I have a pandora subscription and then play it through my Sonos. The issue is that your kid still needs to have access to the web-enabled device to start it playing, change stations, skip songs, etc.

We have an internet radio for DS and he loves it. Access to limited music apps like Pandora and iHeart Radio, and radio stations around the world. Always interesting to hear what's he's found out there.
