Fit of Laboutin vs Gucci?

Good for you Debbie Downer and your HHI and not wanting to spend the money on the shoes, but everyone values things differently. I am sure that you purchase or value things that others would think are over the top.

Same here. I have quite a few pairs of each brand and must admit that I strongly prefer Gucci for everyday use. Much more durable and comfortable, IMO.

And according to my podiatrist, the majority of foot-related problems are caused by cheap shoes. Better shoes fit and mold to the foot better.

I would seriously question the judgment of the podiatrist who thinks foot-related problems are caused by cheap shoes as opposed to shoes with 3 inch heels (even if they cost $500).

More expensive shoes have a higher quality of leather that is softer on the foot. As well, the construction of the shoe (the parts that you don't see) are also made of leather. More time is spent on the fit with more detail put into the crafting.

On a cheaper shoe, the leather is tougher and harder on the foot. The inside construction is plastic which makes the foot mold to it, rather than the opposite.

We were not talking about heel heights which cause their own problems. With over 500 bones in one foot alone, there are all kinds of problem you can have with your feet.

Do you remember this article from the NYT about women and their foot problems due to wearing high-end Choos, Blahniks, etc.?

Of course, when you wear high heels every day and pound the pavement, you're going to have problems. (Besides, newspaper articles are always about scare tactics - it gets people to read their stories!) The issue in this thread is not about abusing our feet - it's about the advantages of wearing good shoes over cheap ones.

500? There are 26 bones in the foot. There aren't even close to 500 bones in the entire human body.
