I used to do that, at least once everyweek, in China. When I went to visit China recently to my regret, they seem to have stopped doing that,. |
Oh my! What an ugly person you are. You also failed to quote the statement in its entirety. How convenient. The person finished the statement by saying, serve the president and the people of the United States. Now what decent Amercan would not want the best for the president and the citenzry of the United States. Oh I know, an ugly zealot who cares about nothing beyond his or her own beliefs. You know, although I truly despised the dumbness and hypocrisy of G.W., I always wished the best because as an American, I was affected by his decisions. |
Hitler started out by slandering the Jews. Kind of like how you are slandering Obama. |
A. Those were the comments of Ashton Kutcher, Demi Moore, and the lead singer from the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Obama didn't say it. B. Everybody wants us to end slavery. It's not just a "black president thing". Right? Right? |
I just showed it to all 3 of my kids. They loved it and then they pledged to keep their rooms and the planet clean. Oh no...they are commies now! |
The description of the video (click to link to youtube to see the comments) said it was made by Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore...not necessarily by Obama.
I see nothing wrong with talking with kids about ways to help our country and to help others...but pledging to Obama is a little strange, and this video is a little odd. And there was a comment disputing if this is the actual video being shown or if its another video. So maybe we should check our facts before getting all hyped up? |
Sure, it's Demi and ashton's views, but if Obama thought pledging to be an Obama servant then he could have asked for them to take that out. |
Do you know anything about this video? It was produced in January and "presented" to Obama at his inauguration. Someone at a single school went out and found the video and decided to use it as part of a project. Obama had nothing to do with the content, production, or distribution of the video. He is the president of the United States. He is not YouTube's video editor. I understand that the right-wingers have been getting geared up to make their kids skip school and not be indoctrinated by Obama's message to study hard and stay in school. But, that message is next week. You are premature in your outrage. Put it on hold for a couple of days. |
Personally, I wouldn't want a bunch of drug using, philandering, uneducated celebrities giving life advice to my kids. How many of these people are high school dropouts? How many are divorced or have out-of-wedlock kids? How many have been arrested? How many of the speakers live in modest homes and take public transportation? I live in 1100 sf home, recycle, I do not use drugs and am happily married and I don't need some dope, limo-riding celebrity to tell me or my kids how much I should flush. |
You're so right, that's why I never let my dd listen to Rush Limbaugh! |
Hehehehe Rush Limbaugh, not that's a joke. Hehehe Hehehe |
Oh yeah, to be fair, I should state that I don't actually know whether Rush Limbaugh rides in a limo or not. ![]() |
Does everyone understand that the "I Pledge" video is not what is going to be shown in school next week. This "I Pledge" video looks very similar to the "will i am" videos during the campaign which were not done by Obama or his campaign. Those were "Yes We Can" videoes and the exact same Hollywood celebs appeared in them. The live stream next week is the supposed to be the President telling children to work hard in school. I really wish someone would explain what the problem is in that message. |
Because working hard in school = socialism. Didn't you know? |
There are two different stories referred to on this thread. The "I Pledge" video linked by the OP was already shown to students. I don't know what Obama's video is going to be about but if it is just telling kids to study hard and act responsibly, I don't have a problem with that. I don't know why anyone would have a problem with that. If he is telling students to help him on certain issues, that's a different matter and not appropriate. |
