She should have wore cheaper shoes. |
If you have it, pay it. $200 is a lot to me too. |
| If $200 is a lot to you, what is your income? |
What? No. It's not up to the entire world to know your dog, or cater to you and your dog. The person with the animal is always, always chiefly responsible. |
This is fair. Most vets would allow you to pay off a balance over time. Ours had us write three checks that were dated 30, 60, and ninety days out. |
|
YOu need to pay for the shoes, and NO, it is nothing like the SATC episode in which, once again, Carrie just acted like a spoiled brat because some rando stole her shoes that she removed. Not the same at all, this was your dog.

| You said sandals - I'm guessing she isn't wearing sandals that much these days. Ask if you can pay her back on a payment plan. |
| Are they the same brand and model of sandals that were chewed up? Or did she buy something that was 5x more expensive than the original? |
| I wouldn't want a friend to replace shoes if she really didn't have the money. |
| I appreciate that $200 is a big expense for something you hadn't budgeted for - particularly with holidays coming up. I would just tell your friend - give her $100 if you can now and that you'll pay her the rest in January and February or something. If I were the friend, I would be grateful for the half, and not accept the remainder - but everyone is different. |
+1 Were the new shoes your friend just purchased the same as the ones your dog chewed up? Or was she taking advantage of the situation thinking she had a blank check coming to her and just bought the most expensive ones she could find? Can't you google the brand name sandal to get an estimate on how much the sandals were worth? |

I can't imagine someone with a pet not being able to afford $200. I am on a tight income and I could come up with that easy.
Hoping nothing happens to your dog and that next time they eat something its not an $1800 emergency vet bill.... |
LOL. Wondering the same. |
