What about putting privacy film on the window |
NP. No, it sounds like he wants the blinds to be shut for HER privacy, not his. Some guys have a thing about other men seeing their woman naked, because they think only they should have that right. The same men usually don't care too much who sees them naked. I would explain it to her, OP, that it bothers you for the reasons I said (or whatever your reasons are). Because normally, it's a person's right who sees them naked. So unless the woman knowingly married into one of the religions/cultures where woman are considered the man's property, or she's somehow breaking the law, it's really up to her to decide what she does. All you can do is just explain it and ask that she be respectful of your ego/beliefs/whatever, and ask if you can make a compromise. Maybe there's something you do that you think is your right that annoys her, and you can agree to both change your behavior a bit. |
So it's bedroom windows she actually won't let you cover? She goes over and opens the curtains once you draw them? If she just never thought to close them herself, that's one thing. But the fact she actively goes up and undoes what you've just done, a tiny domestic thing that she should just let go, since it matters to you -- wow, that's really rather pettily mean. OP, in all seriousness: Sit down and think hard about whether she does this kind of petty passive-aggressive stuff in other ways too. Think about whether she ignores your wishes on small things where she's said she doesn't really care but she then goes and makes things work her way anyway. I would bet there's more to her behavior than just really, really wanting the curtains open. Think about other times when she's rude to you, her spouse, about such little things that she can't let go. And yes, the neighbors CAN see her even if she's not dancing in the window. |
two solutions, first, sheers can make a difference, especially if they have an embrodered design on them. They just stay put, you don't open/close them.
Second, Home Depot sells a plastic roll of "frost" and we used that on a window that overlooked the street. It's cheap and looks real, and it's easy to install. I think that's your best bet because it lets in light but it's in place 24/7 |
