PTA Executive Leadership Team ? Seriously??

I always imagined it compensates for their lack of actual power or responsibility. I see far less “title dropping” with the SES clients and political appointees.

Ha. You just title dropped multiple times.

Anytime I get an email from our PTA "Executive Leadership" or "Senior Leadership Team" makes me want to vomit. Are these people trying to make up for something they didn't get in the corporate world? Maybe they didn't get into a G&T program when they were young? They need to look in the mirror, take a deep breath and realize they aren't that special.

Why do you care so much? At our school the elected members are the Executive Committee. We never sign emails that way. Each officer has their own PTA email address and we just email from our PTA accounts.
Our PTA provide funds for enrichment/training for teachers, classroom supplies, student scholarships for after school enrichment, the list goes on. While volunteers are key it is the officers who organize these things, so who cares what they call themselves.

You seem to have an outdated idea of what the PTA also does and who runs the PTA. At many schools it is working parents who do this in addition to their paid jobs and taking care of their families. So while we can all agree PTA officers aren't special by virtue of being PTA officers I have to wonder what they have done to you to warrant such disdain?

Losers complain and don't volunteer. Stop trying to make loser happen

You know that people on this forum don't volunteer? How is that?

I realized our PTA was out control at the recent announcement on our new First Vice President. What is this the Federal Reserve, Goldman Sachs? With these PTA budgets maybe the FDIC should be regulating them.

The titles are probably coming from national as an affiliate standard.

10:48 - the overarching county and state PTAs often have really weird guidelines about what you can/should call your officers. We were told this year that we couldn't have two people with the same title (they share chair duties for a large event) so we had to break out some titles. It can get a bit ridiculous. Chances are, it has nothing to do with trying to be power hungry and everything to do with being in compliance with the parent organization.
