Human Resources positions in the Federal Government?

HR person in the private sector here. Senior HR job easily pay those sorts of salaries across all sectors, not just government. I am looking at jobs now that start at 140-160k. I personally would prefer to not work in government for the reasons stated above - it's not a good gig for HR people to be in such a bureaucracy and not be able to actually help people.

Also... racism much? Gawd. One job market where minorities can get decent pay and everyone assumes they aren't worth it!? That's garbage.

No. Everyone assumes HR people aren't worth it. They also happen to mostly be minorities. Those are separate issues.

I completely agree with you here. I was a bit taken aback to see the comment about "minority women" being lazy and unwilling to do their jobs. Please let's try to refrain from general inaccuracies/stereotypes here. Bureaucracy and resistance to change, which is what is happening in the HR world today, make for a toxic and unproductive environment for HR people. Leaving behind many disgruntled employees in its wake. HR department is well worth it, when focused on development and nurturing people & their talents. Like I said, the HR world is in the midst of a transformation and trying to figure out how it can better serve the organization's mission and the people, its greatest asset.

Sadly I agree. All the HR interns at my employer are AA men and women.

Hmmm, YOU sound very racist to me... we all know about the quality and work ethics of people hired to fill quotas or ones who have been hired by friends, no matter what the race
