Omg not another stuffed animal! They are the worst! And a gift card for an 18 mo come on now! Go to a toy store and ask someone for help or go to fatbraintoys.com. They have toys by age. It’s my go to when I’m stumped. Can’t go wrong with books either.

That’s a great age for a fun ride-on toy! No stuffed snimsls please!

This isn't very helpful, but sand. He could play for hours in the sand or dirt. Maybe some sand toys?? Or water toys? Bath/water toys are always fun.

No stuffed animals and nothing big. Lift the flap books are big hits, mine likes these ones too: https://www.amazon.com/Five-Little-Ducks-Fingers-Nursery/dp/1338091166/ref=sr_1_fkmr3_3?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1507851670&sr=1-3-fkmr3&keywords=five+little+ducks+and+signs+plastic+book (There are a few varieties including a "Five Little Pumpkins" one that is currently a big hit in our house)

Trains
Books
Duplo guys
Crayons, dot markers
Bottles, cups, buckets, canisters--anything to fill & dump

He likes a lot of stuff, but the ones above get daily use.

OP here - I should have clarified, this is actually my child and while we don't have nearly as many toys as some people, for some reason we already have almost everything you all have mentioned (that used to belong to my 4 year old)!! I might buy her something Little People - we've never owned any of those!

Bubbles, Melissa and Doug school bus, mini basketball hoop, plastic animal figures, and musical instruments are a huge hit in our house right now.

Why does your 18 month old need a gift?

This sink is a huge hit because it's great for indoor water play. Just put a big towel underneath.

Because it's Diwali next week and that's what people do on Diwali nowadays.
