Confession, I would sleep with my boss to further my career

Im really committed to my husband but if I wasn't and the right opportunity came along I would totally do it. Years ago there was a girl who was sleeping with one of the VPS and everyone was sooooo mean to her but it was very clearly stepped in jealously and not moral authority.

Um no, we are not jealous of the woman sleeping with the VP because we ourselves want to sleep with the VP. Honestly, any woman who puts her mind to it, can sleep with a superior. Heck, I'm reminded of the thread from a woman who was divorcing her husband because he got his admin pregnant. The OP from that thread said even tough the girl was younger, she was not as pretty and a bit heavy.

Your boss's confession: You aren't worth the promotion

Jeff moved it.

That's really not doing much of anything. It's time likes these it would be nice to have a female moderator or at least a progressive man/ally.

How would a female moderator help? Id bet money the person who started this thread is female. Clearly many of the respondents who are saying they would screw their boss for a promotion are women.

You're foolish and silly that you think women are a monolith and that they all think like you.

And when you stop sleeping with him or he moves onto the next mark? What then? You think one roll in the hay is going to do it?
Sex for promotion is like blackmail. It never ends or ends very badly.

I came very close to sleeping with my engaged boss (emotional affair). It wasn't fun in the end and ended up with me leaving the job of my own accord. He was a good guy but it obviously would have been a huge mess and not good for my career at all.

Also, a boss who would promote you on the basis of sex is bound to be an awful, sleazy person who sleeps with your coworkers too. That does not seem particularly good for your career.

A boss who would promote you on the basis of having sex with him can also ruin your career if you decide you don’t want sex with him anymore.

You should've worked for Harvey Weinstein

Meh. I would do it too

How would a boss make this approach? Call you into his office, tell you to close the door while he unzips his pants?

Something like that. It's certainly not likely to be very romantic or pleasing! Unless you're into being humiliated (no judgment). The kind of man who would do this is not exactly the type of guy to care about female pleasure. Just read the Weinstein stories ... not very sexy!

Life altering lawsuits filed by coworkers could be a problem. Better to get ahead by subtly letting the boss think it’s possible but not actually doing it.

Not quite the same thing but in law school a girl slept with an associate that interviewed her for a summer associate position. Did even get a callback.

That's what I call hustling backwards.

well take your toys and go home then. no one is forcing your read the post...

I for one think jeff does a good job of moderating. not too heavy of a hand, but still willing to make the hard call and close topics or delete responses

Jeff's wife Maria moderates just as much as he does, but rarely posts. How do we know she didn't see and move the thread? Blame the man much?
