TV for 8 year old kid

My 8 year old watches a lot of the above shows, and also Jesse and Good Luck Charlie.

My 8 year olds like A.N.T. Farm, Teen Titans Go, talent shows, and that cupcake competition show.

We don't allow Fuller House, at all. It's not for kids. We also put the kibosh on shows like Liv & Maddie and Jessie. They seemed ok initially but there is SO much sarcasm. My kids really picked up on that and imitated it so, we cut them out (and shows like it) all together.

The guide on my TV actually recommends it for ages 6+. I generally find the guide's age recommendations to be a bit conservative & my DC did start watching WK at 3 but it is definitely not designed to be a show for just preschoolers. Both my DC & my 8-year-old nephew still watch it, learn from it, & enjoy it, as do several of their friends.

I know a bunch of 8 year old girls (including mine) were into Just Add Magic on Amazon. Awesome series.

Most of the PPs have covered what DS watches, but he does still absolutely watch Wild Krats and Odd Squad.
He got really into Master Chef Jr.

Mostly, left to his own devices, he'll watch youtube videos about minecraft. I find them mind-numbingly annoying, but unoffensive, so that's fine.

Mine likes SpongeBob, The Loud House and Alvin & the Chipmunks. We'll record them on the DVR and she'll binge-watch them while I'm exercising or doing housework.

with me, she'll watch Modern Family, Big Bang Theory and Blackish.

My 8 year old DD is currently into Home: Adventures with Tip & Oh about a girl with an alien friend. I think it is kind of weird but she likes it.

I second Amazon's Just Add Magic -- nice girls and friendships. Another one my 8-year has liked is Amazon's Gortimer Gibbons. Similarly about nice kids and magic.

Just Add Magic, The Kicks, Gortimer Gibbons on Amazon.

I do let them watch some PG-ish TV shows on Hulu - Black-ish, American Housewife, Speechless. Some of the content is slightly mature for them, but we talk about anything they have questions about.

Disney Channel shows are off limits. I'm not a fan. Really listen to them and there are jokes about weight and appearance, not to mention tons of stereotypically sassy girl behavior.
