So if one has breast cancer, it will cost 140k to treat it. If states exempt pre-existing conditions (which could even be having the BRCA gene or some such), then insurance won't cover it and you will have to declare bankruptcy to treat it, unless you are a billionaire and have that kind of cash lying around.

More sick behavior from the GOP. They will lose in 2018 if this passes. It will take health care coverage from 32 million Americans, a lot of them Trump supporters. Sad, indeed, but tragic if you have a life-threatening condition, and your state says, pay up or die.

The Republicans have been very careful to keep this bill under the radar. They want to vote on it before the cost of it has been determined. Crazy and evil.

What will happen is that any comparable coverage under Trumpcare will either be prohibitively expensive or else not cover basic items such as pregnancy, so it basically won't be worth paying for. All fine and good til you get Cancer or hit by a car or something unforeseen.

The only problem I see is the $172k for cancer. Paying $5k for autism or $4k for asthma is small potatoes compared to the sky-high premiums under Obamacare. Middle-class couples easily pay more than $30,000 a year for their health needs, so $4k or $5k is nothing compared to the financial strain of Obamacare.

Agreed. I would gladly take on a little more risk for reduced payments. I am subsidizing too many treatments that I do not want or need.
