Holy Cow! I can't believe people are spending these amounts on a wedding. Glad I have 2 boys.

| about $20k all in - 2010. California, 80 people, am ceremony followed by lunch. No DJ/dancing, but had a photobooth and open bar with beer and wine (no hard liquor). |

2009, a country club in VA suburbs. Sunday lunch wedding, 100 people, we had an ironclad budget of 10K that was exceeded by, I think, $300.
This does not include my ring or my dress (about $800). |

| $5000, Alaska, 50 guests. Somehow, we were able to afford (with that cost) an airbnb for an after party, favors, food, and it was all-you-can-drink. We used an ipad for the DJ, I made the cake & appetizers, and all the decor/flowers were DIY. |

What does having boys have to do with it? My kids are young but we will set aside the same amount of cash for each of their weddings - if they eloped or don't marry or someone else wants to pay they can have the money as cash. |

| PP above- we took the cash option with out $50k budget 14 years ago and eloped. Bought an investment property instead. |
