PK3: Seaton v. LAMB

Anonymous
You live in admo? Then Lamb no question. Because of the anticipated move and maybe you like it better than oyster in the end...but I'm really into Montessori and Spanish so no question at all.

Is this a joke? Seaton isn't even in the same league, I wish my kid went to LAMB

We live in AdMo so the commute to LAMB is a factor. But we love the idea of Spanish immersion. We don't live close to family so I love the idea having the school another place we feel community.

We would likely attend Seaton for 2 years and then move to our in bound which is Oyster and then Wilson.

Does LAMB feed into DCI?

LAMB is trying to get the Kingsbury school up on 14th, to fulfill their long stated goal to have one campus. They don't have it yet, but the process is moving forward. They do feed into DCI. This is a good location for you in AdMo.

How is the Kingsbury process moving forward? Last I heard they hadn't gone before a zoning board yet, right?

They have not.

So it's not moving forward then.

No. They're working on it and say they're still intending to put some classes there in fall 2018, but it hasn't been finalized or approved. This is not unusual.

OP: Would you mind sharing approximately where you were on the LAMB PK3 lottery list? Wondering how far down the list they've gotten (as apparently it's further than indicated on the website).

In the 60s.

They opened another class.

Go take a look at PARCC scores for Seaton current 4th grade. They are dismal. My assumption is most of the testing population has been at Seaton for years.

Also look at the # of students tested for Seaton in 3rd grade, 4th grade and 5th grade. The drop off is clear. Anyone who has another option is taking it.

Kingsbury is closing??

They're in the 70s and opened another PK3 class? That's great - we're in the mid-80s, so hopefully they keep going down the list...

Kingsbury is selling their building and moving. The plan is to co-locate with LAMB for a year or two while they figure out where to move. They say the space is too large for them.

This is bad information. The new class was accounted for in the initial lottery results.
