What type of work, hours per week, etc compared to dod contractors? |
|
if you can fix a nasty performance issue on a highly multithreaded application someone else wrote without wasting 30 days pretending you're a software engineer on Google by instead reviewing source code and eliminating bottlenecks, your clearance is just icing on the cake.
As far as hours, we don't work at McDonalds at this level. You're going to work a lot. You do it because you kick ass and love your job. As such, folks suggesting 60k are out of their minds for a Sr. Software Engineer. |
|
Top Secret here, I used to bounce between 170k to 210k depends on the contract. 17 years in Java and .Net
Makes more than that now because I specialize in a very specific area. |
| My DH makes 210k as a software developer with clearance, 12 years experience. |
What skills does he specialize in? |
| Without clearance and not as an independent contractor, but with experience and all the certifications: about $110k |
| Wow these numbers are all over the map. For these $200k+ roles -- is it management technical ? Crazy hours? |
Where should I post my resume in order to get more opportunities and with better rate? |
| I'm at $550K. Wtf. Are you guys really this low????? |
And you do what, where? Details please |
Machine learning at a bank. |
No it's common starting point for cleared senior developers |
Well yeah quants and banks makes sense. Compare your salary to the former jocks who run the bank; you are way smarter but they have the connections. |
Developing trading strategies? |
So $180 is starting salary for cleared developers? How is work life, prokotuon, stability? |
