Beta HCG levels

OP here:

Thanks for responding everyone. Your words have helped a lot. My husband and I had blood work for genetic testing and a few other things done today. God forbid I lose this pregnancy, we'll hopefully have some insight into why this may be happening.

In 2016, I had an 8 week miscarriage and a chemical pregnancy. This year, I had a chemical pregnancy in January, followed by a miscarriage/chemical in April. I was 6 weeks when I began miscarrying my loss in April, but nothing was ever seen on an ultrasound a few days prior. Some call it a miscarriage and others a chemical.

I'm 31-years-old and have been trying to have a successful pregnancy for almost two years. I'm currently being seen at a fertility center. I've been told that it's not that I have difficulty getting pregnant, but I have difficulty staying pregnant.

I've pretty much lost all of the pregnancy symptoms I was having just a few days ago. Breast tenderness, etc. That scares me.

OP, I've been thinking about you. When is your next beta? I really hope this works out for you.

So sorry for your losses. I am a lot older than you but am the same - get pregnant easily but then miscarry. Key is to find it what is causing your MCs. Mine were chromosomal problems with the fetus, but I'm a lot older than you. If you MC again I would request a recurrent pregnancy loss panel from your RE and karotype testing for both you and your spouse/partner, as well as a D&C If you have a missed miscarriage so they can test the fetal tissue. For me it was a matter of just continuing to try until I had luck. I'm in my 40s and 22 weeks pregnant, no fertillity or other treatments.

OP, any updates??

OP here: I had my second beta this morning. I should have the results by 2PM. I'm hoping for good news. My loss of symptoms is scary though.

My first miscarriage at was due to trisomy-14. That is the only one I had a D&C for. I was too early for a D&C in April. I had lost so much blood by the time I got to the ER and nothing was seen in my uterus.

I had a bunch of testing done yesterday for recurrent miscarriage. My husband also had testing. I will check with my RE to make sure he has tested absolutely everything. I should have the results in two weeks.

Thanks so much to everyone for being so supportive.

OP good luck I'm thinking of you. I had a lot of chemical pregnancies as well and finally had a sticky pregnancy after about 17 months. I vividly remember the 2pm call with my second beta. My first was 216 and my second was over 800. I cried in my cubicle for a half hour. And my DD is 22 months old now.

Take it easy today, good luck.

OP here: I couldn't believe it when I got the call either. I'm happy to report that my number shot up to 687 at 18DPO. My doubling time is 38 hours. I need to go back on Monday for a third beta.

Thanks so much everyone. My heart was beating fast when I listened to the message. I did not expect my number to go up that much. I still have very little symptoms except for some cramping. My last beta is on Monday. I must admit, I'm still a little nervous. I think I'll finally relax when I see a healthy heartbeat...maybe, lol.

YAYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is great! So happy for you! Yes the heartbeat is an incredibly good milestone to get past! I recommend getting the panorama at 10 weeks rather than waiting for the nuchal...also helps give you some peace of mind a little earlier.

CONGRATULATIONS!

Oh and PS: symptoms are totally unpredictable! They come and go like the wind!

ALSO don't freak out if you have some spotting. I had spotting with both of my pregnancies, I actually had a gush of blood with my current pregnancy. But as long as its brownish and doesn't fill a pad you're probably a-ok. Not saying that will happen, just letting you know all the things I freaked out about in the weeks after being in your position

Thinking positive thoughts for you OP! Snuggling my 4 wk old DD courtesy of IUI right now and remembering the stress of those early weeks. Hoping this baby continues to stick!

Thank you so much everyone! I've truly never had a beta double. This is a first for me.
