Craigslist ad - wwyd?

Flag the ad.

Caring rescue people or reputable breeders will never be on Craigslist.

No one should ever tell you that you ask too many questions - indeed rescues and good breeders WANT you to ask questions, and they will have many questions for you. Often they are very picky and ask probing questions.

Sometimes people want to be reimbursed for shots, etc. It's not a technical term when one adopts a pet. You can adopt a pet who wandered into your yard one day.

And OP, if you are only interesting in a purebred cat, don't kid yourself that you are "rescuing" a cat. Please. Give me a break. This is far from a rescue scenario.

Do not preach to me. I'm an experienced rescuer and have always had rescues, including multiple purebreds from city shelters (though not always purebred). I've been looking in the shelters and haven't found what I'm hoping to adopt (and it may be that we don't end up with this breed in the end). So, you give me a break and stuff your judgment.

What I'm not experienced at is CL, which I've never really used and is why I asked the questions. Jerk.

Lose the breed mentality.

And report that CL ad. I hate that Craigslist allows for pets to be listed - it is an invitation to abuse.

I am looking to rescue, which I thought this was by how it was phrased. But, I'm not experienced with CL so it's not. I am rescuing, do rescue, and have rescued. I have fostered for years.

OK everyone?

In this situation, I was looking for a breed of cat - which I like and have adopted from shelters in the past but have not found recently. I've been looking extensively in local shelters. It may be that we don't end up adopting this breed in the end. But I wanted to look first.

Stepping away from this conversation now. Thanks.

Calm down, OP. I'm not PP, but I have to say that if you're an experienced rescuer you should really know this about CL.
CL is shady, period.

My friend bought a puppy in the bronx for $250 off of capitalist. Sweet dog and it'd worked out for her. But she described the situation to me when it happened and it was incredibly sketchy

Please report it. This is a scam and no idea if the person is abusing animals. Please report it to Craigslist as well as PETA.

None of this really matters, anyway because there is no cat! Find a reputable rescue organization, ask your vet for recommendations. Or go to the shelter. Stay off Craigslist

Gee OP, you have a bad/defensive attitude.

Your angry words are seriously clouding my judgement on giving you any advice since you come across as someone that I wouldn't want to even socialize with.

There are plenty of kittens at the Montgomery county animal shelter. And there may even be some at the Rockville Humane Society. You do not have to go to craigslist for a kitten.
