| Wow, I just paid $265 this month for a 2600 sq ft house. I have two AC units/dual zone. However they are probably 15 years old. Hopefully when I replace them, my electricity bills will go down. We set our thermostat to 80 in the daytime, 76 at night. We have kids and grandparents at home during the weekdays in the summertime, though. Still, mine seems pretty high. |

| Just paid a $229 Pepco bill for our 1700 sq foot interior rowhouse! This is with the AC running pretty much 24/7 all month (DH is a polar bear). |

| For solar, it really depends on the state/locality. I'm in DC, which has good solar incentives and a well-established net-metering program. |

| Ouch. My wallet hurts. 1700-square-foot house, 85 years old. New double-pane windows, new attic insulation. $250/month May through September. 80 during the day and 76 at night. We turn off lights and appliances when not in use. Gas cooking and heat. What are we doing wrong??? |
| I know older houses don't do too well in winter. Really surprised that they don't do well in summer too. |

2400 sq. ft. above grade Dual zone with one AC unit (about 7 years old) House is 50 years old but has many large trees around that shade it. We have also put more insulation in attic and basement has excellent insulation since remodeling 6 years ago. Dominion electric $185 last month keep thermostat at 76-77 It has never gone much over $200 in past 18 years, but we are having a hot summer so who knows. |
