Exactly--the point of the article (on this topic and others) is that so much of what we say is disconnected from what we actually want (and pursue secretly). Men want to impress others with the way they talk about women, so they all jump on the bandwagon. |

The fat preference is based on porn searches on Google and can hardly be extrapolated to the whole population.
Isn't this called a self-selecting sample? The guy who did this study also says he thinks women are obsessed with whether their husbands are gay, b/c they ask Google that. Again, how many women never even ask Google a single question about their husbands-- his sexuality or otherwise? Bunch of click-bait BS |
either you get it EVERYWHERE or you get none. can't be selective on "where" |
| There is a difference between curvy and fat. Actual shape and distribution of the excess weight matters, too. I'm a woman and last week noticed this overweight woman in neons coral workout tights and a tunic style white top. She's probably a size 16, if I had to guess. But she had a smaller waist, big hips, even in tight pants didn't look blobby. Her skin was gorgeous and she carried herself with confidence. These different things matter. |
He doesn't say that are "obsessed" with it. He also says there are higher rates of women wondering that in the south, where the searches for gay porn are relatively high but the numbers of actual out gay men are fairly low. So, basically... there is a correlation between women googling whether their husband is gay, and actual closeted gay men in heterosexual marriages. So... once again this study shows the truth behind the googling. |
I'll take it. |
And I will certainly pass. Yuck! |
| That's totally cool and I have no quarrel with it. But I'm really only interested in what one guy likes - my husband. |
| The author doesn't define what he means by "overweight" and "skinny" which complicates things. Are we talking about BMI chart overweight, which could be size 8-12 or are we talking about morbidly obese? I think there's a difference. |
I believe it would cover both of those though unless the porn star is fairly short a size 8 would not be overweight... |
| I like a woman with a little meat on her bones so being a little overweight is fine with me. Skinny girls do nothing for me nor do women who are technically obese. |
| Curvy and fat/overweight are not the same thing at all. J Lo is curvy but lena dunham is fat. |
| My DW and her sister are two years apart with my DW being older. My DW has a few extra pounds on her and my SIL is skin and bones and looks much older than her sister. If I were meeting them both for the first time I'd make a bee line to my DW. But, there is a big difference to me in being overweight and being obese. |

Guys like boobs
Guys dont want to be with Male teenage bodies Overweight over skinny hands down but Normal trumps them all |
| I realized how much men like curves when I lost a ton of weight for my ripped, shredded college BF because I was so insecure that we were a bad match. He had been gone for a summer semester (only a month and a half) abroad and I was so excited to show him the results and I have never seen a person look so horrified. I will never forget the humiliation of him dropping all these hints about how I should think about gaining some weight. But gaining the weight back sure was fun! |
