Fitness expenses

I pay $45 for a monthly gym membership. I only use it about 3 times a week, although I have in the past used it daily. Even at that frequency, I think the cost is worth it. I have access to a free gym in my office building, and I also go running sometimes. When I travel I use online videos.

It is entirely possible to get fit for 0$ a month, but I see this spending more as an "entertainment" budget. If it were just about loosing weight, I could do it for free. It's more a place to go and it's a social network for me too.

Income is about 100K yearly.

HHI is 500K.

DH - personal trainer once a week and unlimited Flywheel - I think he's around $400 a month, probably a little more.
Me - Classpass supplemented with out of pocket for Flywheel and Soul Cycle, so somewhere in the $200 range.

We also belong as a family to a little pool/gym (the JCC but not in DC) and the university gym, which are another $150 a month. So all in...probably $750 a month. Sounds really high now that I am typing it out! Bu we actually do use all of them...

I pay $165 monthly for unlimited pure barre membership. I have lost 24lbs in 6 months. So, it's been money well spent for me. I have recently been diagnosed with pcos, and more cardio is absolutely necessary. We purchased a brand new treadmill off of a friend who had foot surgery and couldn't use it. So, when my membership ends in a few months, I will switch exclusively to treadmill, yoga at home, and maybe some day a peleton bike. HHI is $197K.

$300/month for gym membership plus personal training sessions 2x a week. $105k/year. I buy a personal training package so the per session cost is lower and I get a discount on my gym membership because I work in the same complex.

Once we have childcare expenses, I'll likely have to cut back to 1x a week training sessions.

- I have a 30$ gym membership at work that I don't use enough and I am considering more boutique yoga/Pilates for the WE but haven't made the jump yet
- DH woes from home and does a 25$ bikram yoga class twice a month on average

We are now planing to spend 5k to transform our garage into a gym..

Free gym in my office, I use it 3-4x per week
STBW has her grandfathered WSC membership that's something ridiculous like $28/month.
She goes to yoga 4x month, so that's about another $60 there.

We total about $88/month. $270K income.

This is close to what I spend minus the $50 specialty class.

180k HHI, 178/month on gyms:
34/month on an office gym membership for me - lift weights 3x/week
108/ month for a yoga and pilates studio for me - aim to take classes 3x/week (not always successful, but I locked into this rate when my studio had memberships on sale. I've crunched the numbers based on how often I actually go - typically 10x/month - and the monthly autodebit is slightly cheaper than the other available options)
36/month for a gym with a pool - husband swims daily

That's great!

$120 a month for unlimited orangetheory.

HHI: $500k
Gym: $90 (includes childcare for one of my kids). I go about 3-4 times a week
Semi-private yoga lessons while kid naps: $120. Once a week, but I only pay $60 every other week
Barre3 unlimited: $110 for new client special. Planning to go 3x per week
I also joined a Dietbet this January, but it looks like I am actually going to win this one, so I should recover my buy-in and make a little bit on top of it.
