I agree nice names. For some reason Ella Clooney makes me think of Ella Fitzgerald + Rosemary Clooney |
They were due "sometime in June", right? So full term or really close to it. |
That's great, because Rosemary is George's aunt. |
| Alexander is a classic Arabic name. |
| Solid name choices. |
NP here. While I agree that Amal is as normal a name as any other traditional name from any other culture, Amal Clooney grew up in London/the UK from the age of 2 on, & it is probably not at all a common name there. It's pretty likely, therefore, that, outside of her family, most of the people who she grew up with were not familiar with her name until they met her. So, assuming she & George plan on raising their kids in the US or UK, it is possible that she wanted her kids to grow up with names that wouldn't stand out among their peers/that their friends, teachers, friends' parents, etc would almost certainly already be familiar with. It's also possible, of course, that Amal & George just chose two names they love & neither the fact that both of those names are common in the US/UK nor Amal's own experiences growing up with a name that was uncommon where she lived factored into their choices at all. |
| Great news. Happy for them. I really love this couple. |
| With those genes they will probably both be good looking and smart. |
| They are both family names for me and I have AA southern roots. Congratulations to them! |
| I've known at least three Amals. |
| Love the names. |

Thank goodness no: North, Saint, Blu Ivy, Apple, etc. silliness.
|
| i wonder how much they weighed. She never looked more than 4 months pregnant and she was so skinny to begin with, I can't imagine she was carrying babies that weighed more than 3 lbs each. |
+100 |
| Clooney is a rough last name. |
