How to find out if someone is really divorced ?

I once called a county in a different state. Try that OP. I asked her to check if there was a divorce record because I was planning to come down there. When she said yes I had my answer.

Maybe he's separated and living apart, but not actually divorced. What did your friend say about their conversation exactly? I would just ask him.

Be very careful, OP .... I know of a recent situation where a relative got involved with this guy who seemed ostensibly a great catch and who claimed to be divorced. It turned out that he was not.

I would follow the advice of those who suggest making a discreet inquiry as to whether there is a divorce record at the county where he claims he got his divorce.
