Abusive Administration in Elementary School?

This teacher has been there one year and is leaving like many others that just stay a year who are really great. How common is this? So upsetting.

Very very common. There is almost no accountability for administrators. Principal is a job for life.

That's funny because I can count at least 10 FCPS principals at all levels that have been moved out of the principal position (and not promoted) in the last 4 years. And I'm not even thinking that hard about it.

It's very common in Fairfax county. There is no accountability for administrators that I can tell. They have the job for life, no matter how bad they suck at it.

I have worked in an Elementary School in FCPS where an administrator was removed. I will say, teachers move for a variety of reasons, but a great administrator makes ALL the difference.

If the teachers say the administrator is great...watch out...she/he may be covering their incompetence instead of firing them.

I am the teacher whose post you were replying to. I have no idea what you're trying to say here. In my experience, when teachers are unhappy, parents often are as well. Also, last time I checked, teachers do not fire their bosses.
