All i can think about is pubescent boys. Teenagers. Maturity is not the first thing that comes to mind.
My kid started puberty early (now 5'10" at 13, and getting a mustache.) The ways in which you might consider him "mature" have been in evidence since he was a toddler, in many ways. Responsible, hard-working, organized. He is not really any more so due to puberty. Rather the opposite. (more impatient, more socially awkward.)
