Salary for VP vs. Director vs Manager at Fortune 1000 / Large Companies?

Our bands are wide, but the first posts seem low to me. I'm a VP at a Fortune 500: $304k salary, bonus is a complicated formula and has been anywhere from 75k to 200k, and stock options around $150 to $250. Other than my salary, my package is very dependent on how the company performs.

I'm at a Fortune 5 (not 500). These all sound right. We have steps between director and VP hence the huge difference in the pay.

Do the low bands sounds right or the high bands? Confused. Where do junior VPs stack up on this? And Senior Directors?

it depends on how rare vp and director jobs are. At my company, a VP is basically C-level, and there are very, very few. But I've also worked at places where there were tons of VPs and they were just the same as senior managers and directors here.

I'm the PP from the Fortune 5. This is close for managers and directors. Full VPs are likely higher. Their package is an exec package different than the rest of us with way more bonus and stock. The VP salary here is probably closer to what our "lower" VPs make. They then are around 20-25% bonus + stock options.

DH is at a Fortune 500, and these are a little low for his company, but not by much at the VP level. Executive incentives are closer to 40% bonus + stock grants with vesting periods, though. The Manager and Director titles earn more than this, though...the salary differences between ranks is just narrower at his company. But the transition to an executive incentive package happens before VP. DH is a Managing Director but has been earning executive incentive since he was a Sr. Director that also had 3 tiers of reports.

At my previous job as a Director at a Fortune 500 that inflated titles, IMHO, I earned $170K base + 30% bonus. Now I earn $240K (no bonus) at what is effectively a Manager role at a mid-size company.

It also depends what industry. Financial services pays better than other industries.

I'm at a non financial services Fortune 200 company in the dc area, and the 140k plus bonus for a director sounds right. This company has hundreds of directors and Sr directors though. Fewer VPs but at least a few hundred.

I'm a Director with 12 years experience at that level and working for trade associations...and I clearly made the wrong career path. Damn I'd be happy with $140K.

Titles are hard

I was a director at a Fortune 500 making $180 plus $70.
I'm now not a director and make $200 plus $350.

IT company here and these numbers sound very low to me. Managers under me make around 150-180k. I'm a VP and base is 220k and bonus is based on profitability and ranges from 40k-120k. RSUs are in play and that is in addition to thr above.

Close family member is a VP at a large company and makes 600 base that's doubled with an easily attainable bonus. The position requires a skill set most executives don't have and the person has a lot of experience, ie. spent much of their career making much less.
