Car poll for those with 2 kids

having said that, it's the perfect small family car. Not much longer than our ancient Toyota Corolla, but seats 6 at a pinch.

So we also have a Mazda5 and I similarly recommended it all the time but it hasn't lasted as well as I would like. It is 9 and on its last legs. But if they still made them in the US I might still buy another one, because we haven't found anything comparable. I have two kids, but we carpool a lot and my very small kids (including a tiny 10 yo) seem destined to be in boosters for a long time. Folding down second row to get to a third row, when my younger is still in a fixed car seat seems problematic. I would love ideas!!!

2015 Subaru Legacy. I had a Honda CRV before, and just never got used to SUVs, as small as it was. I much prefer a sedan. Which is why I chose a Legacy over an Outback or Forrester.

The Legacy had the most leg room in its class the year I bought it, and it has a huge trunk. The Honda Accord trunk might be bigger. But the Legacy is plenty big enough for us, with strollers, or suitcases for trips, etc.

Agree with PP that the Mazda 5 is a perfect 2-kids car. We have that plus a small wagon/hatchback. The wagon is fine for day-to-day driving but the Mazda5 is our road trip car because the kids like having the reclining seats and it has more cargo room. Also good to have one car with a third row for when my parents visit and the occasional carpool. Since the Mazda5 is not longer sold in the US, if we had to replace it I'd look at minivans or an SUV with a 3rd row.
