how long do you have to wait at your pediatrician's office?

What practice? At ours, we have had to wait with the not helpful nurses for about an hour. Is there a practice in McLean worth using?

Maybe 10 mins or so but our ped only has 2 drs and a NP. I try to get the first appt. of the day or the first appt. after lunch. If they squeezed me in for a sick visit, I'd be willing to wait 30 mins or so. I would never wait that long for my own doctor let alone w/ a baby or small child. When you switch, let them know why.

Just curious about your comment about holding off on feeding until after vaccines. I've never heard of that - am I supposed to be doing that?

I think she holds on for confort purposes...like if child is crying after the vaccines, nursing will sooth him.

OP here...yes that's why I hold off on feeding. If the appt went on time, I would be feeding him around the same time he would be normally fed.

OP here...I'm not going to post the name of the practice on this board. I think they're excellent in many ways. Nevertheless I'm probably going to find a new one.

Over the last 7 years, the wait times have varied from 5-10 min to over an hour. I really like her doc and have decided not to swtich. If I had to routinely wait for more than an hour, I may consider switching.

If a ped is running really behind, an explanation should be given (emergency?) or the option of seeing another ped in the practice.
