How do I deal with a very anxious, controlling mother?

Anonymous
I'm sorry. I feel for you. I am not sure I would recommend family therapy, because you don't need to fix your mom to lead a healthy life. Just make peace with her anxiety and criticism.

My mom is a lot like this, and now that my son is in high school, and I've been to therapy, she has less access than she did. I don't think she understands this, but too much nana is harmful to me and my kid.

I would not spend time with your mother. I don't need that in my life.
