Does a Starbuck's Frappuccino have any caffeine or coffee?

You can order any of the frappucino's with a creme base and they will not have the coffee. Caveat: they don't always register what you are saying so I have taken to saying creme base so I want that with no coffee its for my child..

Oh for the love of God, YES! Sugary drinks on occasion are not going to ruin a kid. Let her enjoy one if for no other reason than she can tell her friends she has. If she's been asking it's probably because she hears the other kids talking about them and she can't relate.

I can't believe ordering a frappachino is causing OP this much angst.

My daughter gets the double chocolate chip frap (with *gasp* whipped cream and Hershey's syrup). No caffeine. It's more or less an icy milkshake and a yummy treat.

PP again - obviously chocolate has caffeine in it, but this drink has no coffee. Surely the OP allows her child to have chocolate candy or chocolate ice cream?

Except some flavors do not have coffee, like the strawberry one.
The green tea one doesent have coffee either, it's made with matcha.

But it has a lot of caffeine in it.

You can order a coffee-based Frappuccino with decaf coffee (which Starbucks doesn't always have for whatever reason). They have less crap in them than the "creme" based ones.

No more frequently than every five years.

People like you make me twitch.

Since my kids have had coffee since they were probably 6 months old and stealing it from my cup, I'm sure it's fine for your 12 year old, who drinks it when you aren't there....

The anti-coffee myth makers are alive and well I see. There is nothing wrong with a 12 year old having coffee. Do you let her have coke or diet coke or chocolate? Its pretty much the same thing.

My DD is 13. She drinks coffee (actual coffee not just fancy coffee drinks) regularly. She is very tall for her age (already well past average height for a grown woman). She is an athlete and plays several sports. She arrived at a game the other morning, drinking her usual coffee as she walked up to the warn up. One of the coaches or a teammate said, "you know you shouldnt drink coffee, it stunts growth" which is a common myth. She replied, "well I have been drinking coffee since I was little so I guess Im screwed" and made everyone laugh at the absurdity of the anti-coffee myths as every other girl on the team looked up at her.

Omg. One drink isn't going to do anything.

I read somewhere that coffee stunts child growth and development, and I asked our doctor too, she suggested we wait until shes atleast 16.
