I cannot stand the mainstream media.
Well, you have choices. They hate us hardworking Americans. Hardworking Americans create those shows. Hardworking Americans watch those shows. Hardworking Americans buy the products that pay for the mass market advertisements that pay for those shows. They need hardworking Americans. They don't hate them. They don’t understand our problems. If you are calling the "mainstream media" "they" and, what, half of American "us" then you are overgeneralizing. Not to mention, there are many, many shows and articles in "the media" trying to illuminate all aspects of the American life. Late night entertainment shows, not so much. They do not speak for us. Again, think you are overgeneralizing a little here. The mainstream media needs to be ignored. You can ignore them. You have choices. America! We cannot allow them to divide us, or threaten us. Do you have a grievance with politicians? Religious leaders? Also....THREATEN you? They rely on these faulty polls to make decisions. Didn’t every poll get the 2016 presidential election wrong? No, national polls were accurate on the popular vote within the margin of error (+/- 3 percentage points). The three states that Hillary lost that made the difference were also within the margin of error. Also, what decisions is the "media" making? The media thinks they are so smart, but they are so detached from normal Americans. Please define "normal" Americans. People who live on the coasts and in blue states certainly consider themselves normal. As do immigrants and naturalized Americans. And people with higher education. I’d like to see a journalist fix a roof or build a porch. I'd like to know why you think a journalist can't fix a roof or build a porch, or at least why they are more or less likely to know how than a dentist or a schoolteacher or an insurance agent or a line cook. Also, Colbert is an actor, not a journalist. I’d like to see one of these celebrities stare at a paycheck that has been sliced in half by ridiculous taxes. Do you know about marginal rates? These media thugs don’t understand working America. They think everything is easy and that we are the problem. They don’t understand how damaging Obamacare has been to our businesses. Pretty big generalizations here. Thankfully, we have Donald Trump as president. Trump understands the working man. He has never had to apply for a job or earn a wage a day in his life. Trump understands our struggles. See above. He doesn't have health insurance because he can just pay for care. He has never had to save for college or retirement or a car. We don’t need to rely on leftist lies anymore. The mainstream media hates this. There is a difference between bias and lies. Stephen Colbert deserves to be Fired for saying this to President Trump, invite all you friends to sign the petition. We must collect 100,000 Signatures! I'll sign when I see the petitions to get Rush Limbaugh, Alex Jones, and Sean Hannity fired for all the things they said about President Obama. |

If it makes you feel better, the FCC is looking into his comments. I don't expect CBS to fire anybody, maybe just makes some terse pre-packaged corporate message about how he Colbert is an asset to their network and that they respective different points of views etc. Civility went down the toilet when Donald Trump's statements and actions were normalized, downplayed, or rationalized in a bizarre matter of fact manner. Stop grasping at straws in your self-pitying attempt to define "real Americans." You do not own any monopoly over who is an Americans. As others have pointed out already in this thread, Trump his accomplices, and his sympathizers get away with saying and doing far worse and yet he has not been held to account, yet, because our GOP led congress just need him as a useful idiot until they no longer do. I did and I felt the same disdain for him and his policies as you do towards President Trump. But I respected Obama and taught my children to do the same. I hoped he would do well for the sake of my children. |
