What is the common thread among your friends who date white men? Visually, that is?

I'm a white man with a black wife. This was Pre-Internet dating and we were introduced by a mutual friend (also a black woman) who knew we'd both dated interacially before.

Once people know you're open to other races, there will be some who rush to set you up with their favorite single friend.

There is a real shortage of black men who are educated and successful, and many times they are with white women so turn about is fair play. Not all white guys are keepers, so be selective.

I've seen a few Black women post about how the men in their families will sort of "haze" guys they date, especially White guys.

I will say this sort of thing will deter interracial daters even more than men of their own race.

When I was single I dated a couple of black women. I was attracted to them not because they were black but that they were very pretty, smart and fun. This was in the 80's when things were not as open as they are today. If you are a WOC and like someone, ask them out. This is 2017, not 1977.

The bolded is very true. It's hard to know if people stick with their own racial groups or are open to venturing out. Once it's known, the uncertainty falls to the way side and people are more likely to ask a person of another race out.

Older divorced white guy here who sometimes dates black women. My preference is strongly for a professional, educated women who is somewhat trim (or not too heavy). Chemistry is important and I only have that with a small proportion of any race of women.
