Nope. She was just reelected. |
| How long is the SB member term before re-election? |
She is awful. I've watched her cut off speakers and it was clear she had no political skills but was off on a weird power trip. APS has terrible leadership but parents settle for mediocre. |
Two years. Think of the damage she'll be able to do in that time. |
I wish there was enough public outrage against her that she would resign. I'd sign that petition. |
unfortunately its 4 years. We are stuck until 2020- https://www.apsva.us/school-board-members/ |
She is incapable of recognizing when she is wrong, so she can't be pushed to resign. |
|
Kinda like the Trump victory, if nothing else hopefully this last year will remind Americans that we need to be active participants in our democratic and electoral processes at all levels of government.
Wouldn't be a bad idea if a few people sent an email to the School Board, and/or to Nancy directly, letting her know how appalled we are and suggesting a public apology to Reid. |
Oh no! I am really concerned about the damage this woman can do! |
Current parents didn't elect her. The democratic caucus pushed her through and was largely made up of retirees. Parents don't get involved and now here we are. |
| I am an APS parent and I've never voted for NVD. I even voted for the outsider candidate last time hoping I could keep her out. Deep down, I knew it was in vain, but I couldn't vote in someone who was so obviously bad for our schools and our children. |
| I can't stand her or Murphy. For those who attended last night's session, did you get a sense of what the SB thought of Kenmore as the possible 4th HS? |
| I have the work session playing in the background and it is effin' amazing to me how little they have thought though the effects of making ASFS the neighborhood school instead of having the team. |
Tannia is strongly against it. There will clearly be seats at the Ed Center, it's a question of what kind and how many. Nancy pointed out to the staff that there was nothing requiring that all the money be devoted to one project, i.e. that potential renovations at multiple locations could help resolve the 1,300 seat issue. She's also openly stated repeatedly that the Ed Center is a done deal. James is mute, as he's up for reelection. I think Barbara and Reid both see merit in Kenmore. Last night was really more about the staff laying out their factors, getting guidance, and preparing to do their analysis. Go to the APS Engage website and read the results of their survey and all the feedback they have gotten from the community. |
| Reid is always the only one that sounds like he's got his shit together. |
