My neighbor has chickens. We did not know until he offered us eggs. Apparently he's had them for a while.
I smell chicken tax/permit. If not, why is she bothering the chicken people ? Always follow the money. I could understand if the yard were postage stamp small, townhouse and city living but if you have a decent sized yard, why not ? |
+1 The suburban parts of NWDC look exactly like the close-in parts of Montgomery County where backyard chickens are allowed (but not roosters due to noise issues). |

Maybe Bowser is opposed to stupid hippie nonesense
Like "urban chickens." Hopefully she will ban ironic men's facial hair too. |
| Also wondering about schools with chickens. Anyone know if they will be allowed to keep them? |
Will they be "grandfathered" in? |
| I thought chickens were banned in MoCo. Something in the law about a distance from the chicken pen to the house? |
I saw something about being allowed to have up to 6 hens, no roosters in an appropriate amount of space. I'd rather have chickens next door than dogs. At least the chickens provide eggs and don't have the risk of biting you fatally. |
| Ireally am against this law too. We should have a meet up at Comet Pizza about this to organize opposition. Ok, woops. Hell, I love Comet and will take any excuse to go there. |
| I would love to have chickens, but does having chickens attract rats if there's already a rat problem? Seriously. |
| Ban the chickens. I chose to live in a city not to have to live w barnyard animals. |
They're not attracted to the chickens themselves, but their food. |
| What do you do with your chicken when they die?? I'd love to have a few chickens but wouldn't know what to do if they die (or get really old, I suppose) - do you eat them or dump?? |
Not much ironic men's facial hair in Ward 8. Where do you live? |
Bury them? |
Ban dogs too while you're at it. In many parts of the country, they live in barns. |
