Last year, our school notified us before we received the letter in the mail.

You're the one whose principal showed up on the doorstep with a rose?

Some orientations were very close to mailing of eligibility letters last year for some schools. I think that's why this happened. Why the sarcasm?

Close or not, the schools aren't rolling the red carpets out for students who are offered acceptance. After all, it isn't as if it is this elite few who are offered acceptance. It is lots of kids who are offered spots. Lots.

The school called because they were worried some people wouldn't get the letter before the orientation. How is that rolling out the red carpet? That's just doing make sense given the tight timeframe. Other schools' orientations weren't as close, so didn't call. You can choose not to believe if you feel better doing that.

The FCPS website says decisions are mailed April 6-7.

Why is everyone so anxious about this? It's elementary school, not college acceptances! My kid is in the pool but I'm not even sure if I will put him in AAP if he is accepted. I have a hard enough time getting him to do his homework now!

I'm a planner. The not knowing either way is hard for me personally.

I guess i would be more anxious if our base school wasn't AAP, he'll be going to the same school either way.
