Actually her private school k-12 program only goes to poor kids.

Exactly.

I understand Hogan has a difficult job, being a Republican governor of a deep blue state, so I adjust my expectations accordingly.

Honestly, my only expectation is that he uses his veto powers to veto anything that gets into batshit crazy liberal territory, such as state-level laws to enact sanctuary policies. If he only does that, I'll be more than happy with him.

Underfunded? The Democrats did NOT fund the unaccompanied minor illegal aliens. Did Obama give federal money to build a new secondary school [super sized] and operate in each of PG, MOCO, and FX counties? The published volume since Oct 2013 fills a huge one in each of those 3 counties.

I didn't see the money. Show it to me via a link .

Hogan is scrounging for MD taxpayer money to keep Baltimore schools afloat: http://wtop.com/baltimore/2017/03/hogan-proposes-23-7m-state-funds-baltimore-schools/

Now where does Hogan get money? Taxes paid. Baltimore got 1055 [more than 1/3 less than each of the other 3]. Now there's a very direct number. 1055 definite drains on resources that otherwise would go to mostly African Americans.

Oh but wait. Isn't that also true in PG?

You need to cut way back on whatever stimulant you are using.

No stimulant. I'm just pointing out where the $ went ...

It's a bunch of sentences that don't fit together enough to make sense.

Well, then I think he's probably wrong.

Hogan isn't very popular, isn't very bright and has no charisma. His main chance for re-election as Gov was basically keep a low enough profile so no one bothers to come out to vote. Trump has killed his chances of re-election so he'll be booted out. I can't imagine why anyone would want him as a running mate. He certainly wouldn't turn MD or VA red for anyone and I can't see any other conservative base groups or regions that would get super excited about him over many other options.

Exactly. He's hurting MD with his policies to get in good with an administration that won't do anything for him.

Hogan is popular . All he does is competent and non partisan. He got rid of the rain tax and if he vetoes this nonsense sanctuary state bill he will win again just by reminding people that not voting for him will make the state sanctuary becoming a crime and poverty magnet while losing federal funds.

He's not popular

+1
He won not because of a landslide of Rs but because of lots of moderate Ds fed up with no check on how far to the left the state might pull. I am a Democrat but that does not mean I want one party to have total leeway.

Frankly I don't think that is good for any state and think divided government at the state level is a very good thing.

Hogan has exactly 0.0% chance of being reelected

The next governor of MD will be Rushern Baker.

I don't know. I am a Democrat and I voted for Hogan. Became really fed up on the day of election when the election flyers from the Democratic party that landed on my doorstep were totally in Spanish. Apparently, the MD Democratic party thinks none of us English speaking white / black / asian people live on the eastern side of MoCo. So, I voted for Hogan. So did a lot of other Democrats. His resistance to the sanctuary bill will win him lots of votes across party lines.

While I really don't want a Republican governor, Hogan has done ok in some ways. I will never again vote for another Maryland politician from either Baltimore or PG County. Both places are doing poorly when they should be booming, and both have problems with corruption.

Maryland Democrats need to run a strong candidate from any where else in the state (not PG or Baltimore) and lots of people (and Democrats) will vote for them. Otherwise, Hogan is probably going to have another term.
