Keratosis pilaris

ugh! i hate it, mine is really noticeable right now and on my shoulders which usually it isn't. So annoying, sometimes its practically gone on its own and sometimes it gets worse and I treat it. I would say that my at home treatments, sometimes they work great and then after a while they don't so I switch stuff up. I'm having luck the last few days with the gold bond rough and bumpy body cream. I also use my clarisonic mia on the areas in the shower (no special head, just the one I use for face too). I've liked the body shop's tea tree oil body wash for this before. Sometimes scrubs help, sometimes they make it worse ( salt and sugar are both hit and miss)

coconut oil as a moisturizer works sometimes for me too

I have never sprung for the kp derma doctor but I think I should.

Cut out gluten! I did for another reason and my KP completely disappeared.

FYI- this is like everything else, it might work for you, it did 100% nothing for me. as did cutting all sugar, etc. Its mostly genentic anyway.

As PP suggested, Gold Bond Rough and Bumpy lotion. It really makes a difference. I've tried all sorts of scrubs, coconut oil, Amlactin, etc. Gold Bond is the only thing that's semi-worked. And while the bumps are improved, they are not gone.

Cutting out gluten, upon water intake. Mine was never better than when I was pregnant and drinking so.much.water.

A dermatologist flat out told me there's nothing that will get rid of it and the only thing that will significantly improve it is a tan (which he of course did not recommend). Mine does improve when I spend time in the sun, but I also have a darker complexion. These days I use differin and amlactin. It helps but it's still there.

Vit D from sun exposure cures it for me until next summer. There is no need even to get light brown, just one hour in early morning sun two-three times and than go back to sunblock.
