Any experiences with reporting a nonresident student in APS?

Last school year the school board decided to allow the students who were already in, to be able to remain in until graduation. From what I heard they are only at Hoffman Boston, Randolph for elementary. Jefferson, Gunston, and Kenmore for middle. Wakefield for high school. It was discovered that at the time they stopped allowing students in, there were only around 30 to 40 students left. The number gets smaller every year since students have been graduating. This is what I found when I googled it. https://www.apsva.us/wp-content/uploads/legacy_assets/www/7553fb4500-25-2.1-admission-placement.pdf

This is not an employee's child.

Their might be very good reasons for the child attending the school. They might be homeless, might have child care in the area, might have pupil placement for some other reason. Why would you want to harm a child by reporting this??

If there is a good reason, APS can sort that out. People are always telling me how well my child will do at their very low rated school. I'm sure this child will be just fine at whatever school they are zoned for.

How do you know there isn't an administrative transfer that's been granted? I know two kids who have them, and they were based on reasons that would not be immediately obvious.

Also, are you admitting that you're not even in APS yet and you're worrying about what some other kid is doing? How does it affect you at all?

I'd bet money this child is a behavior problem in OP's child's class. Biggest reason anyone starts looking into residency.

I'm not the OP, but are you not aware of that overcrowding in APS. Move along.

I love that there are two pages of discussion about the broader issues of residency/nonresidency/reporting, but no one who can speak to the original question -- personal experiences with reporting.
