Support a fair process for redistricting in Virginia

While you fight over whether OP is a VA voter, let me assure you I am. And VA is gerrymandered. Otherwise, Barbara Comstock would not be representing me, a chunk of Western Fairfax and Loudoun, and then a huge swatch of red ROVA. Feel free to yell about MD-- and NC. Grew up in NC, and they may well win. But, In the meantime, I'd like the interests of the Dulles and silver line folks not to be lumped in with rural interests.

Has that boundary changed since Comstock won?

Hasn't Loudon county and Western Fairfax traditionally voted Republican, up until mid-Obama?

The boundary has not changed since she won. The PP may be a new VA voter.

PP and good catch. Not a new VA voter, but moved from a safe democratic NOVA district to Comstock's since the last election. And am just disgusted with the way this district is drawn. It makes no sense to have the airport and silver line, plus a very educated and a heavily immigrant part of the Tech Corridor lumped in with parts of VA where people had six Trump signs in their yards. We have zero interest in common. And now she is ducking town halls. She respresents a bunch of government employees and contractors who are understandably upset. She needs to show up and deal with that.

I bet oP is not a Virginia voter, but someone from DC or MD who is active in the national democratic party.

This is the new push for the democrats. They cannot win on the local level outright, so they are trying to gerrymander to win.

If this was about creating sound voting districts, OP woukd be worried about fixing the crazy gerrymandering in MD and CA.

Exactly! They don't give a d@mn about the 10th congressional district or Barbar Comstock - the DNC is just on a roll and destroy mission across the USA. Look at what they are doing about Townhalls? You don't really thing ever single Republican Congressman or Senator is consciously avoiding Townhalls? They are avoiding them because out-of-district DNC members will come and irresponsibly protest and riot.

Protests and riots are not the same. There hasn't been anything even approaching a riot at any of the town halls nationwide. Stop spreading misinformation.

If Comstock is not having town halls then maybe constituents should arrange to have one themselves - invite her, along with inviting a panel of potential candidates who might run against her and experts to speak on the issues you are concerned about, and invite the media, and if she doesn't show, shame her for it.

This just happened in the district where my husband's from. Guy hasn't held a town hall since 1992.

OP here. I am a resident of Virginia.

They did have one in Sterling. She no-showed. Her staff won't even release her schedule unlike most representatives. She does not represent my interests at all.

VA is horribly gerrymandered. All the state-wide elected officials are Democrats but the state legislature is overwhelmingly R.
