Why I am wrong? |
Sorry, if you had asked about the jocks, nerds, or stoners, I'd have lists for you, but not for the preppies. |
Off point here I know, but I think I recall your posts on the college forum, and I'm surprised you picked St. John's College. I think it is a wonderful school, by the way, but you seemed very focused on a degree from a college filled with preppy handbook types, that would eventually land you a job on Wall Street. Assuming you are the poster I'm thinking of, kudos to you for valuing academics over the other factors! |
Really? St. John's is nerdy not preppy. Why aren't you going further from home? A Southern school seems like it would be a better fit. |
Ole Miss and Duke are where the prepsters are. |
And a TJ Maxx if you want to try to find a pink shirt on sale for $39.99. But the preppy left Georgetown a long time ago. |
+1. Your first comment shows me that you know nothing about the Baltimore area. |
Georgetown I guess but people I know don't hang out there a ton these days, it's a little spent. A good website to check out is BYT for D.C. It's not "preppy" but it's a good indicator of where people are going. You should drop this prepy crap and go have fun and you'll find some girl wearing Nantucket red and be into her. |
I didnt say Baltimore area. I understand that there is a huge preppy culture north of Baltimore and the Old Money prep school crowd that exist there. My point was that if someone is going to Baltimore proper and various downtown neighborhoods, you don't get a preppy vibe at all. |
Annapolis is preppy. |
I once saw someone wearing a pink shirt in Arlington. Wouldn't want to generalize, though. |
And tacky and overrated. |
+1000 Grew up there, went to one of the top private schools. Extremely preppy. There is tons of family money in Baltimore. |
Transfer to UVA. There are a few remnant preppy types. But it's changing by the minute, thankfully. |
How did the old money Baltimore families make their money? And why are they still in the Baltimore area if they have money to move elsewhere? |
