Sons giving their moms gifts on Valentines Day

Anonymous
I, daughter-in-law, typically give my in-laws something for Valentine's Day but I see them at least twice a week. We address it from our son to both my FIL and MIL. Usually something little and fun like a container of chocolate covered popcorn or something like that from Balduccis.

I have sent my mom small things also but again we address it as being from our son. She lives away so we will let our son pick out a fun coffee mug or kitchen towels or something that she will use and smile when she opens it.

We have a small family and life is short.. If I can do something small to make my ILs and mom happy, I try to do it.

I do not expect to receive anything from my husband or son. I typically put little baskets together for them.

I'm surprised by these responses. I feel like lots of people give valentines gifts.

My sons never gave me a gift on Valentine's Day.

I'm pretty sure their wives would shit a brick if they did.

My husband would not do it for his mom and I do everything. I figure my kid sees everything and that's how he'll learn to treat his MIL well and how his wife should treat me. Really, is it that hard to send a small gift as you can order flowers or something cheaper online. My parents would never do it for me but when my MIL could, she'd send small simple well thought out gifts that I greatly appreciated. At a minimum, send a thank you.

I can't imagine a child (of either sex) giving their parent a valentine, unless child is 5 yrs old and they drew it in kindergarten art class.

People are being a little bit dramatic here. Send a card if it's something you are thinking about. It's nice and doesn't require much effort.

I should say, his YOUNG daughters.

Dads give YOUNG daughters valentines? When did you decide this? How young is YOUNG?
