Obama Booed at All Stars Game...

I've read a lot of things that make me cringe on this board and make me question a poster's integrity and intelligence. But, this is an outright LIE! Bush threw from the dirt and a major league hitter would have taken a swing.

Obama had that forgiving camera angle, he was in front of the mound, the "catcher" was in front of homeplate and he had to extend his arm so that it didn't hit the dirt. And, from some angles, it appears that it did hit the dirt.

Reminds me of those Kerry shots of him throwing a football. Big city Democrats should really stay away from sports, hunting, etc. They just look moronic and they're not fooling anyone (except you, PP!)

So, for once, please just look at the video without your Obama-glasses.

What a conservative hack defines as "in front of the mount".

The catcher did have to extend his arm, but he was behind the plate at the throw.

It is a sad state of affairs that some conservatives and/or Republicans have decided to make an issue out of such trivial matters -- and lie about it to boot.

Oh god the economy-housing went down the tubes as a result of liberal policies to give people who didn't have any creditworthiness credit. Tax cuts did not hurt the economy, they always help. And Obama just spent more money in six months then every president combined and he is not stopping anytime soon. Don't get me started on national security and healthcare.

I'm the one who started the "better than the last guy" throw comment. Thanks for those (Jeff included!) who defended me.

Video of both - you decide.

I'm more than willing to concede that Bush can throw a better pitch. But, get the two guys on a basketball court and let's see who schools who.

Or, even more importantly, let's see which of the two is better at deciding when to launch an invasion and which countries to invade. Let's see which one is more likely to appoint a guy who ran a horse association to be head of FEMA. I'm happy to put up with Obama's poor bowling and baseball skills in exchange for his competence in the skills that matter.

Great! I'm assuming he threw like Julie Croteau, who played in men's NCAA baseball and on US women's world cup teams. And who, by the way, played on a men's semi-pro team in Fredericksburg where I had the chance to watch her play.

C'mon -- if you're going to insult Obama's baseball playing ability, please use something other than a tired attack on girls. I would have expected DCUMers to not promote that stereotype.

I am still trying to figure out how you can be both AGAINST and FOR a surge policy?

SH was flouting inspectors; I never believed he had WMD's (and it is sad that our intelligence did not figure out his fear of looking weak in the eyes of Iran) but in the time after 9/11 was no time for America to roll over for enemies flouting the conditions of a treaty. I believe the invasion was 'justified', though mis-prioritized-and yes. Rummy was a horror. That being said, WHY is Afghanistan more important? I would much rather, now that we have sacrificed blood and treasure, stay the course in Iraq (as we did in Japan and Germany) and help them develop a stable democracy that ultimately will benefit the democratic alignment, instead of pulling out as per artificial timelines, gallivanting off to Afghanistan, have the Marines do all the heavy lifting (again; they are willing and the most effective...) with no apparent plan to nation-build in their wake. Marines are incredibly effective at what they do; they are not 'nation-builders'. Who is coming in after them to develop law and democratic systems in a country with 2 percent literacy? I am a state department brat; this would not have been a job for my dad--a wonderful, wonderful, former Vietnam soldier--but once a state department official middle-aged with wife and kids not a nationbuilder in a high risk zone. Time and time again the Dept. of State has abnegated the responsibility to develop a formal former military/statesman corp who can go in after the military and develop systems while protecting themselves. I know many military ready to make the transition. Where is the plan? Maybe the Commander in Chief is too busy perfecting his pitches and interfering in Honduras. Shame!

Sorry, I thought we were talking about all-star games. George Bush Sr. bounced one once there.

Why - just because Obama is black? If someone else had said that, someone would be crying racism.

My guess is because Obama is known to be good at basketball, and has used his skills there as part of his publicity etc. -- OP

Haven't you seen the videos of him on a basketball court? Even though Einstein was Jewish, it's not a stereotype to say he was smart.

Please, can you chill it with the whiny knee-jerk self-pitying reactions? The man can play basketball! Pay attention!

I have no idea why Obama is good at basketball. All I know is that he is:
