Us was placing sanctions on Russia for hacking. Evidence suggests Comey called to assure them not to worry because Trump would immediately lift all sanctions.

I think you meant Flynn

Yes, sorry! I'm so worked up about this and the Comey briefing I slipped. Thanks. It was Flynn.

So is anyone with any authority going to do anything about this? Are we okay with our president and his immediate advisors betraying our country to Russia for their personal gain and power? And in Trump's case, potentially enrichment?

How about you tell us what the attempt at influence was first? Watching everyone have a seizure every time "Russia" and anything to do with "Trump" comes up doesn't count.

And let's be honest: the publicly released hacking stuff is total joke.

Glad you're so cavalier about to-be advisors to a president potentially tipping off and/or colluding with Russians. Did you feel so cavalier about Hillary's emails? Or were you frothing at the mouth? Bet it was the latter. Hypocrite.

Until I see proof otherwise I'm convinced Comey was in on it. So yeah not looking good for oversight.

I agree. Absolutely.

Democrats seem to feel the same. There's lots of reference to a final 15 minutes in Comeys briefing "shaking confidence."

What is this about Comey's briefing shaking confidence? I haven't seen anything on this.

Actually, that is not true, in any case. Ignatious updated his column on this. Turns out that there were two phone calls with the Russian ambassador. Both prior to the sanctions. Both were condolence calls.

from the article:
"UPDATE: The Trump transition team did not respond Thursday night to a request for comment. But two team members called with information Friday morning. A first Trump official confirmed that Flynn had spoken with Kislyak by phone, but said the calls were before sanctions were announced and didn’t cover that topic. This official later added that Flynn’s initial call was to express condolences to Kislyak after the terrorist killing of the Russian ambassador to Ankara Dec. 19, and that Flynn made a second call Dec. 28 to express condolences for the shoot-down of a Russian plane carrying a choir to Syria. In that second call, Flynn also discussed plans for a Trump-Putin conversation sometime after the inauguration. In addition, a second Trump official said the Dec. 28 call included an invitation from Kislyak for a Trump administration official to visit Kazakhstan for a conference in late January"

In a country that lives by "innocent until proven guilty", the whole rush to de-legitimize and charge with colluding with Russians should probably have some pretty serious evidence accompanying it.

You clowns are the cavalier ones, not those of us who have read the reports of 'manipulation' and laughed our asses off. Russia using RT to undermine by democracy by reporting on the enviro dangers of fracking? LOL!

That's incorrect. Flynn actually called the ambassadar 5 times on the day of the sanction. Check the timing in the following article.

Sorry, can't take you seriously after months of "lock her up" over nothing, while supporting a treasonous loon.

"The man tapped to be national security adviser to President-elect Trump, Gen. Michael Flynn, exchanged text messages and spoke with Russia's ambassador to the U.S. Sergey Kislyak in December around the time of the Obama administration's response to Russian interference during the presidential campaign, a spokesman for President-elect Donald Trump acknowledged Friday."

Is this treasonous? What the heck is wrong with us? When will the rest of the country wake up?

1. Flynn knew nothing about obamas little tizzy fit because the spying thing wasn't catching on and 2. This was well before the sanctions were implemented. Educate your stupid paranoid self.

Ugh, this just gets worse and worse. Where is law enforcement? Where are the intelligence agencies? Where is the enforcement of our friggin' LAWS????????

In all serious if we want our laws enforced we are going to have to get off our keyboards and show up at our elected officials offices. We should be speaking out and showing up often and with a focus. The squeaky wheel gets the grease, especially when they vote and it's clear they are motivated. If this bothers you--do something proactive. I live in DC so I am a person who really experiences taxation without representation but I am motivated. I have reached out to friends and family in other states and they are showing up in their elected officials offices. I am calling Senate and House Committees. Ghandi showed up. The suffragettes showed up. Abolitionists showed up. Harriet Tubman showed up. Ruby Bridges showed up and she was a young child who couldn't vote. Rosa Parks showed up. MLK and all the civil rights activists showed up. Labor organizers showed up. History is full of people who showed up and said--not on my watch. Be the watchman and in the words of My Shot from Hamilton "Rise up! (From behind your keys) you rise up, tell your brother that he's gotta rise up, tell your sister that she's gotta rise up."
