This is my MIL and FIL. Got married too young, had DH and my SIL, MIL was young, pretty and realized she wanted to live her life. They agreed to date around but stay together, but it didn't work. Divorce. FIL remarried 2 years later (because men ALWAYS do), they've been married 20 years now. MIL, while had several different more relationships, is now still unmarried, alone, and a bit depressed. Such a cautionary tale.

She didn't do anything wrong during their marriage. Neither did he and he sounds like a great man, with a 2d wife with whom he is more passionately compatible. She was completely truthful with him, and he with her - he didn't know the open marriage would kill him. Now he knows and will never accept that in his marriage, which it seems will endure for life.

Neither of us are having much sex now. We are married, so its 1x per week in one position. If I am having sex with my girlfriend 10x per week, who cares if she is having it 20x per week. Win-win!

Nope. Both men and women who have secure attachment types seem to be attracted to the "fearful/avoidant" attachment types. It's the age old story- you want what you can't have. I'm a woman and I agree that there are some lame, women-hating men on DCUM. But the wife was a total loser. She totally got off on pushing his buttons. Trying to bang your kid's teacher? You're conflating two issues. Males who display alpha tendencies will get more women. That's a fact. Science backs that up.

Women don't like indecisive weak men. They don't mind a nice guy to talk about things with, but they're not the ones getting laid.
