Feelings for trainer--end the business relationship?!?!?!

Anonymous
I used to get Pilates training at a place where the trainers clearly had this sort of faux flirting relationships with most of their clients. My trainer (female like I was) wasn't like that, but it was very interesting to observe. I wouldn't take it too seriously, op.

I resisted the PT cliche for 5 years, but now I want to see him personally. Don't bother (because he is probably seeing someone?) or ask him?? Ugh....the suspense. The past year has felt like cat and mouse: exciting, but I won't do this in 2017. We have gotten to know each other, and I would like to get to know him, for real.
You've been with him for a year and still don't' know if he's dating anybody? sounds like this is purely a professional relationship.

True. It is purely professional...but the vibe that I get from him says otherwise. Anyway, 2017 may just be time for a rotation of new boutique classes and less gym time-- and dating. That could help get him off of my mind.

If at this point you don't know anything about his personal life - like whether or not he's seeing someone - guess what? He's just not that into you. Let it go, OP.

OP here...

OP I'm interested...

He would have already made a move if he were really interested. And you are probably older than him...maybe about 45? And he is probably 27 or so. He's not into you. He's just friendly. Date someone your own age.

I know the feeling. My Crossfit trainers are hot. I can feel the tension when they help me with my lifts or when they tease me to push harder. They lock eyes with me from across the gym.

are you single? I've heard of multiple cheating stories (women with Crossfit trainers)

An awful mess, and I guess it confirms the "needy" hypothesis.

As a doctor she should have had much better judgment.

OP here. I'm late 30s. He is mid-30s. Yes, I do agree he would have made a move--maybe we are both just ok with seeing the other as eye candy.

Stay away from lunkhead primadonas. While their business is appearing to make it about you, invariably its about them.

It's a fantasy. Keep in mind that even if you hook up, you'll still see him at the gym, which can be awkward. Speaking from experience here... The gym was the place I went to relax, work hard, and not think about things. Having to avoid an ex that's ALWAYS there made it less so. The sex was ok, athletic, but just ok. And I agree, if he was interested in dating, the subject of ending your professional relationship would come up.

Are you married?

Get over tours of, they'll do that with any half way attractive woman. I was CF trainer, I just wanted to make sure people didn't hurt themselves. Plus - don't poop where you eat.

I completely agree!! So classic. Just so predictable. You fall for your trainer or therapist!
Personally i would never go there but i dont need a short lived relationship based on physical attraction only .
