Muriel Bowser - Will She Win Re-election

Hopefully she won't. Of course, all that truly matters in this city (at this point) is that you're

1) a D
2) Balck

That's pretty much it. Catania would have been such a better mayor. But no! He was too "mean."

Hate Bowser, but I don't see a viable alternative. Allen is worthless and a terrible councilmember. Agree with the opinions on Gray and Grosso.

I am tired of this black and white talk. Can we try to get someone smart and effective instead?

I like Silverman, and think she has been a good council member, but I don't think she can win a race for Mayor. I agree Kenyan is the best bet, but may need more seasoning. I wouldn't rule it a run and a win by Grey though.

Why do you think Grosso will fail? Silverman can't win. She won't get any black wards, but Grosso definitely could. My favorite is Kenyan McDuffie, but I don't think he's ready yet.

grosso or silverman would be awful. We need to swing back to the middle potilitcally. Those two just want to keep raising taxes, increasing the burden on everyone and ignoring middle and upper class families in public schools.

Gray will run and provide a serious challenge to Bowser. She will need Wards 2 and 3 to win. If Racine gets in, he could benefit from the split vote.

Mayor "Marion" Bowser has been running again since the day she was sworn in. The question is whether she could win against a reformer candidate with broad appeal like AG Karl Racine.

I liked Racine at first, but now I see he's just a pansy. No backbone.

I want Obama to run.

Kenyan has certainly been courting the important "cell block" constituency in DC. He's the criminals' friend on the Council.

Bullshit. He is a former prosecutor. He has been looking in other cities to see what's been effective around ex offenders.

I call BS. Kenyon McBarrie is the reincarnation of Mayor for Life Marion B; offenders are his 'base.'

That is sooo ridiculous! Why don't you go meet with him and find out yourself. He is the absolute opposite of Marion Barry. If you don't know what the hell you are talking about, shut up.

It is so rare to find smart Councilmembers that I refuse to allow someone to speak disparagingly about one who is actually thoughtful. He is the opposite of your current Mayor.
