Not trying to brag...but toddler is advanced?

Definitely sounds smart. But my 2nd DD started using sentences at 16 month. She too is bright, but never dawned on me to say she was gifted. She's 3 1/2 now, still very smart, but doesn't stand out to me as advanced beyond her little peer group. Just keep doing what you're doing mama. Keep your toddler engaged, exploring and learning.

My daughter is also verbally advanced, much like yours. Everyone who has kids the same age, works with young kids - everyone who has a recent comparison point - tells me how well she speaks for her age.

You're not imaging it OP. You just have no one to gush to about it. Enjoy it, nurture it, and hope it continues.

Thanks for the honest replies. I would not think much about it if it weren't for so many other people commenting about it.

And the so what is so nothing, I was simply curious about it but it won't change anything of course.

My daughter is super verbal. She just turned 2 and has been having full sentence conversations since about 18 months. My sons were not nearly as verbal at this age. She also potty trained herself whereas the boys were difficult to potty train. Girls are often easier/advanced at these things at this young age but the boys catch up around 3.

I would say she has hundreds of words and speaks in nearly complete sentences. She is also very inquisitive and asks a lot of questions - for example she might show me a picture in a book and ask "what is the name", "what does it do", "what is it for" - she asks for a lot of details and more in depth explanations than superficial explanations. She is learning two languages simultaneously but English is her dominant language. She also expresses her feelings. For example, if she gets upset over something, after it is over she will tell me, "I cried because I could not have the shoes and it made me sad."

Is this pretty normal for her age? Oh, and she is very petite so I think people are surprised that such a small person can speak so well.

This describes what my DS was like at 2, including comments from teachers/strangers. I think it's on the high end of normal, so to speak. Advanced but not gifted/talented...look it up...gifted toddlers do crazy things, way more than being conversational and verbal

Sounds like she is doing great! My LO was like that. Potty trained before 2 and reading before 3. Also tiny so people were really wowwed. She is a normal bright teenager now. Enjoy her..

I love to see proud parents who nurture their children. Giving them all the advantages and seeing them blossom under the attention and care. What more could we want for our children?

Stop. No need for the snark. It is not at all crazy to wonder what OP is wondering.

My youngest of four is like this...two years old, small for his age, and speaking clearly in complete sentences. My mom says we should try to get him in the movies . Maybe we will see you in LA, OP
